Writer's Flood: The Debilitating Disease
Everyone whines about writer's block, but they never warn you about the opposite, equally crippling, problem. I call it writer's flood. It's like being hit in the head ten times by the Magical Inspiration Stick; ideas and words just start flowing out and you're helpless to stop them. All you can do is occasionally blow on your fingertips as they fly over the keyboard, frantically trying to keep them from catching on fire from sheer speed.
I have one more week to finish this book and get it submitted to Harper Voyager, and today, that's the only thing on my mind.
Sorry for this crappy post, and I promise an extra-good one tomorrow!
In case you were wondering... yes, I did draw this excellent picture. And they wonder why I stick with words as my art form...
I like the picture, it very eloquently says it all! Good for you for posting at all - I can't wait to read your book!!
