BOO! NaNoWriMo Starts Tomorrow!

Happy Halloween!

If you're anything like me, bedsheet ghosts and batting spiderwebs have nothing on NaNoWriMo starting tomorrow.

Just kidding. Heh heh. I ain't afraid of no word count goal!

In case you missed out on prepping for NaNo, I've got a few last-minute tips for how to get ready.

Tip #1:

Make a playlist. Do it today, so that tomorrow you don't spend your whole writing time arranging songs. I see you.

Tip #2:

Gather your inspiration. This might include an outline, or just some brief notes. Maybe you have a few images that inspire you. Maybe you're weird, like me, and you need all your senses engaged for maximum creativity. Pick out your writing scent, test out that candle warmer, make sure your writing spot is clean and cozy.

Tip #3:

Tell people. No, seriously. This will make it WAY more embarrassing if you don't follow through, and we need that shame.

Tip #4:

Don't worry about it. At the end of the day, you can be successful at NaNoWriMo with no preparation at all! Preptober is completely optional, and you are going to be fine.

Are you excited to get going with your NaNo project? Have you set yourself a special goal this November, or are you just aiming for the standard 50,000 words? Let me know!

And in case you've noticed, yes, I am very, very behind on Inktober. I am... as bad at consistency as I am at drawing. Also, I had power for like 11 days of October so we're officially cutting me a break. P.S. PG&E may or may not be getting a shoutout as one of the inspirations behind the villain in one of my books.
